Blythewood businesswoman indicted on embezzlement, breach of trust charges
COLUMBIA, SC Blythewood businesswoman, Terris Shirelle Riley has been indicted on one count of embezzlement over $10,000 and four counts of breach of trust over $10,000, according to S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson.
If convicted, Riley faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine for both the embezzlement and breach of trust charges, Wilson said.
In her role as president of New Venue Technologies, Incorporated, Riley was entrusted with funds to be paid to various vendors who had supplied computer software to governmental entities within South Carolina, according to the indictment. Riley is accused of converting those funds to her own use.
