Stolen van used to smash into Columbia car wash, where ATM was stolen, police say

Burglary suspects used a stolen van to smash their way into a Columbia car wash Sunday. The Columbia Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying at least three suspects involved in the burglary.

The incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. at the Sparkle Car Wash, located at 6212 Garners Ferry Road, near the Shoppes at Woodhill, according to police.

Officers responded to the scene for a security alarm and noticed a substantial hole in the side of the building, police said.

Surveillance video shows suspects intentionally crashing the stolen van into the car wash, where they stole an ATM.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
