Armed robbery suspect, out on bond, charged with another armed robbery

A Richland County man already out on bond for an armed robbery that occurred on Nov. 19, 2017, was taken in to custody on March 1 in relation to a robbery in Newberry County.

Carban Kiaeem Epps, 18, of 1026 Rabon Pond Dr., Columbia, was arrested in Greenville County with the assistance of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and SC State Law Enforcement Division.

According to an incident report filed with the Newberry County Sheriff’s Department, on Feb. 22, the victim was showing Epps and two other persons a firearm that the victim had in his possession. Upon handing the firearm to Epps, Epps reportedly said that the gun was now his, threatened to kill the victim, and left with the .45 caliber pistol.

Epps is being held, awaiting a bond hearing. The handgun has not been recovered at this time.
