Irmo man’s body pulled from pond in subdivision
A body was pulled from a pond in an Irmo subdivision on Sunday, according to police.
Someone found the body in a pond in the Carmel Commons subdivision around 2:45 p.m., according to Capt. Courtney Dennis of the Irmo Police Department. The subdivision is just off Wandering Brook Road and Columbia Avenue.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher on Sunday evening identified the person as 42-year-old Tao Gao of Irmo. No foul play is suspected in Gao’s death; however, an autopsy to determine the cause of death is scheduled for Tuesday.
