Suspect in bar shooting death arrested

Tips to CrimeStoppers led deputies to a suspect in connection to the shooting death early Wednesday of 23-year-old Brandon Samuel Brown of Columbia, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said in a news release.

William Jackson, 25, was taken into custody on Friday at the Willow Run Apartments at 511 Alcott Drive, Columbia.

Brown was found by deputies shot in the lower body around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, at the Faces Lounge Bar & Grill at 1709 Decker Blvd. He was taken to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Jackson was being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center Saturday afternoon. He was charged with murder. .
