Lexington County deputies investigate fatal shooting on Bush River Road

Lexington County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting that broke out on Bush River Road Tuesday evening that killed one, sheriff’s department officials said.

Adam Myrick, a Lexington County Sheriff’s Department spokesman, said the shooting happened at about 4:30 p.m. at the River Oaks Apartments located in the 5300 block of Bush River Road.

Myrick said the victim, a 29-year-old black male, died after being transported to the Lexington Medical Center. Investigators are continuing to follow all leads they have generated throughout the night. No additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting were available Wednesday morning.
