Police seek three ‘persons of interest’ as they investigate death of man found shot in Five Points

Columbia police continue to investigate the shooting of a man found dead inside a vehicle in a parking lot in Five Points Sunday, and announced they’re seeking three men for questioning.

Levi Happy, 22, was found inside a vehicle in the 1000 block of Harden Street shortly before 1:30 a.m., according to the Columbia Police Department. Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen.

Late Monday evening, the Columbia Police Department released images of three black men described as “persons of interest,” in connection with the deadly shooting, said public information liaison Jennifer Timmons, adding that the police are trying to locate two cars as well – a light-colored compact and a blue or green sedan missing a hubcap on the front tire on the driver’s side.

According to the pictures released by the Columbia police, one of the persons of interest is wearing a red St. Louis Cardinals baseball cap and a dark collared short-sleeve shirt with logos on the chest. Another one of the persons of interest is wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, while the third is wearing a red hat and a dark top.
