Police: Woman crashes into Walmart, screams about ‘rapture’

Police arrested a Camden woman who allegedly crashed her car into a Walmart building then screaming about the rapture.

Camden police responded to Walmart, 2240 Dekalb St., around 8:30 p.m. Monday after receiving reports of a 2007 Ford Focus crashing into the business, according to the incident report.

When police arrived, they saw the 34-year-old suspect in the middle of a crowd and screaming. When policed attempted to question the suspect about what happened, she began to speak about how the “rapture” was coming and how “God told her to do it,” the report stated.

The suspect refused to answer questions and was handcuffed and placed in a patrol vehicle.

She later admitted to intentionally driving the vehicle into the building, which police confirmed after Walmart provided security footage of the wreck.

The building sustained about $1,000 in damage’

The report stated no alcohol use was detected, though drug use was unknown.

Police arrested the woman and charged her with with malicious injury to real property and disorderly conduct.
