Police: Patient threatened to shoot everyone in Camden hospital
Police arrested a woman who threatened to shoot everyone with an AR-15 at a Camden hospital early Saturday morning.
Camden police responded to KershawHealth Medical Center, 1315 Roberts St., around 2 a.m. Saturday morning after receiving reports of a woman who stated she was going to get a gun and come back to the hospital, according to the incident report.
Police arrived and found Jennifer Kay Fuhrer, 38, of Sumter in front of the hospital when they arrived. The report stated she told officers she wrecked her vehicle earlier in the night and was brought to the emergency department by an ambulance.
A nurse at the hospital told police Fuhrer refused medical treatment and was discharged against medical advice. She then was asked to leave the property by staff and initially refused.
The nurse reported Fuhrer began to yell, scream and curse in her room and in the hallway of the hospital. She then yelled at security and in front of patients and families in the lobby of the emergency department.
The nurse then escorted Fuhrer out off the hospital and told her to wait on a bench for a ride and to remain calm or she would call law enforcement, the report stated.
A patient at the hospital told police he heard Fuhrer say she was going to get her AR-15 and kill everyone at the hospital.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
The report stated there was no suspected alcohol use, though drug use was listed as unknown.
Police arrested Furher and charged her with disorderly conduct and issued a trespass notice from the hospital.
