A two-vehicle collision Sunday in Lexington County left one man dead.
A 2006 Chevrolet was traveling south at 3:18 p.m. on Gardners Terrace Road outside of West Columbia when it crossed into the northbound lane, where it struck a 2004 Pontiac head on, said Lance Corporal Judd Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The driver of the Chevrolet wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead on the scene, Jones said.
Patricia Stone, 69, was driving the Pontiac and was taken to an area hospital, along with a male passenger, with non-life threatening injuries according to Jones, adding both were wearing seatbelts.
A female passenger in the Chevrolet was also wearing a seatbelt and was taken to an area hospital with a non-life threatening injury, said Jones, who added the collision remains under investigation by Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.
