Suspect who allegedly shot at car with five victims inside turns himself into police

A man who allegedly shot at a car an occupied car turned himself into police custody for the crime.

Police believe Patrick Williams, 40, shot at a vehicle on the 2300 block of Ervin Street June 8.

Five people were inside the car at the time of the incident, according to the Columbia Police Department. No injuries were reported from the incident, though the vehicle did sustain damage.

Investigators believe the motive for the shooting dealt with money.

Williams turned himself into police today.

He is charged with five counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and malicious injury to property.

Williams was transported to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
