Letters: Patriotism is lost on young people
Young people seem not to understand the sacrifices many young men and women just like them made to allow them to enjoy and have the advantage of living in America. Respect for the American flag and what it represents seems lost to these young adults. Sad to say, many of their parents have the same lack of respect for our country. It’s time for all to re-educate themselves on our values and practice them. It seems as though they are not taught in our schools today.
I challenge all young adults to go on Netflix and watch the story of the USS Indianapolis. I guarantee you will have a profound respect for our country, our values and the men and women who served and made the ultimate sacrifice so you can live in our great country. Then go out and treat each other with respect. Also buy an American flag and proudly display it.
