Tuesday letters: Beasley finally being vindicated for Confederate flag position
When Gov. David Beasley boldly proposed removing the Confederate flag from the State House in 1996, he risked his political future based on his belief that this is how Christians ought to act toward one another.
It wasn’t a tragedy but love that compelled him to act. I believe he is being vindicated, and love is still the best motivation for removing the flag.
