Three Game Storylines
1. Where did the offense go? This is a Clemson attack with a Heisman-caliber talent at quarterback, a top-flight tailback and a fleet of dominant receivers. Yet the Ferrari is stuck in second gear. Troy caused it problems, and that in itself is notable.
2. Putting someone away? Clemson should roll past the Bulldogs without much trouble, especially after SC State lost two games by at least 29 points, but the same was true before Troy. The Tigers have not lost in their past 42 games against unranked foes.
3. The Renfrow factor? The Tigers offense will be without top slot receiver Hunter Renfrow for the short term with a broken bone in his hand. The former quarterback had 33 receptions for 492 yards last season and was a dynamic play-maker. Clemson also is without linebacker Ben Boulware (ankle).

Three Players to Watch - Clemson
1. Quarterback Deshaun Watson‘s struggles seemed mundane after facing Auburn, but against Troy, he needed 53 passes to reach 292 yards and hit fewer than 51 percent of his passes. The Heisman hopeful has 540 yards, four scores and three picks.
2. Wide receiver Mike Williams had a down game against Troy after 174 yards against Auburn. He’s still got 97 more yards through the air than any other Tiger and is averaging 18 yards a catch.
3. Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence had 17 tackles in only 78 snaps with three tackles for loss, a sack and a pass break up.

Three Players to Watch - S.C. State
1. Quarterback Caleb York is not only the team’s top passer with 271 yards and two scores, but he also leads the Bulldogs with 78 yards rushing on 16 carries.
2. Wide receiver Lynard Jamison is the top Bulldogs target with 83 yards on eight catches. The Blythewood product had 35 catches for 332 yards in 2015.
3. Linebacker Darius Leonard is S.C. State’s top tackler with 24, 12 solo. He had 16 stops in the season opener against Central Florida.
Quote to note
“We want them to just kind of come out and just kind of go on through the motions and get on out of there, which would probably be the best case scenario for us.” - S.C. State coach Buddy Pough
