Spartanburg’s Tavien Feaster calls Clemson ‘the right decision’

247Sports

One of the nation's most exciting prospects in the 2016 class, Spartanburg running back Tavien Feaster, put a little more sizzle into his recruiting late last month with a two day visit to Tennessee. Feaster enjoyed himself immensely on the visit and told Volunteer fan websites that the weekend had given him something else to consider. But after thinking things over for a few days, Feaster reassured Clemson fans of his plans by putting on Twitter that he's still committed to the Tigers.

"I thought about those things and I felt like I had already made the right decision for myself and for my future," Feaster said Monday night. "My mind was already set."

Feaster was given the orange carpet treatment at Tennessee and he admits to briefly being caught up in the words and ways of Butch Jones and company.

"They were on me hard when I was up there and were talking real good," he said. "It was alright. I had fun. But Clemson is where I'm at."

It's been a while since Feaster was last at Clemson and had a chance to sit down with Dabo Swinney and his staff. That will change someday this week when he and his family will make the ride over to Pickens County. And Feaster said it's not the case the Tigers need to re-recruit him. What's done is done.

"I don't think it's necessary," he said. "We're just going to do a little catching up. I haven't been to Clemson in a while actually and it's going to be catching up basically."

Feaster said along with Tennessee, Georgia and USC are two other schools to contact him over the summer, but he's not taking any more visits outside of Clemson and won't take official visits to any other schools.

Feaster added that he would like to graduate early but is not sure he will be able to due to the class schedule he has this year.
