Defensive back Daniel Wright (6-foot-2, 180 pounds) of Fort Lauderdale has never been to Clemson, but he has an offer to come on board as a safety. He plans to visit this summer for a closer look. Wright has his list down to 11 schools: Clemson, Notre Dame, Florida State, Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Maryland, Auburn, Florida and Southern Cal.

Wright said he's been getting strong interest from Clemson and has been hearing from secondary coach Mike Reed.

"They've been hitting me up pretty well and I feel like I need to take the visit and see how it is for myself. From things they've been telling me it's going to be great up there. They said I would love the atmosphere and the family. The family they hold up there is nice. I want to feel that tradition. I want to see for myself."

The Tigers have checked out Wright an like what they see as a safety, a position Clemson needs to restock after losing two to this year's draft.

"They like my progress and how I come down on my breaks and angles and they are just ready for me to come up there and see that I can fit well up there in their program," Wright said. "We'll see how it goes."

Wright said Florida State, LSU and Miami have been in this evaluation period. He does not have a favorite at this point and is looking at signing day for making is commitment.

Last season Wright had 72 tackles with four interceptions.
