One night after delivering a 24-run onslaught, Clemson’s bats were held largely quiet.

Instead, the Tigers were on the receiving end in a 12-1 loss to Oklahoma State on Saturday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

Tyler Buffet held the Tigers to seven hits in seven innings to pick up the win. The Cowboys scored a run in the first and two in the second. They broke the game open with a five-run third.

Clemson threatened in the bottom of the fifth. Trailing 8-1, Chris Williams singled to open the inning, but Andrew Cox struck out swinging. Chase Pinder then singled through the left side, putting runners at first and second. However, Eli White struck out swinging, which brought hot-hitting Seth Beer to the plate. However, Tyler Buffet got Beer to pop up to the shortstop, ending the inning.

Clemson will play Western Carolina – the team the Tigers defeated 24-10 on Friday – at noon on Sunday in an elimination game. The winner will face Oklahoma State at 7 p.m.
