Gamecocks infielder set to transfer
South Carolina infielder Jared Williams is set to transfer, The State newspaper confirmed Wednesday morning.
The Gilbert High product spent two seasons with the Gamecocks, redshirting last year before playing in 13 games this spring.
Williams recorded four hits in nine at bats (.444) this season in limited playing time with no starts.
Williams was rated as the No. 11 high school prospect in the state of South Carolina by Perfect Game, and the No. 2 second baseman in the state, according to Diamond Prospects.
Williams has three years of eligibility remaining.
