USC baseball shows support for fallen Vanderbilt player
The South Carolina baseball team showed its support Friday for Vanderbilt freshman pitcher Donny Everett, who drowned while fishing in Tennessee a day before the Commodores were to open the NCAA Tournament.
In addition to supportive tweets throughout the day, players wrote the initials “DE” along with a cross on the hats they will wear Friday night against Rhode Island at Founders Park. LSU’s players also are remembering Everett the same way during their NCAA Tournament game.
