Steve Spurrier’s salary ranks 15th nationally
Even in the midst of a challenging season, South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier retained his place as one of the best paid coaches in the nation according to USA Today.
Spurrier comes in 15th in the publication’s 2015 annual database of coaching salaries. His total compensation is $4,028,600, a bump of $11,700 from last year.
He ranks seventh among SEC coaches, just behind Auburn’s Gus Malzahn and ahead of Dan Mullen from Mississippi State. Alabama’s Nick Saban is the top paid coach nationally at $7,087,481.
The total for staff pay has not yet been released as 2:30 Thursday.
