Steve Spurrier will spend Saturday in Michigan on ESPN College GameDay
Steve Spurrier will be a part of ESPN’s College GameDay show on Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich., the former South Carolina head coach said Wednesday on the Dan Patrick Show.
Spurrier, who resigned as Gamecocks coach on Tuesday, said he was invited to appear by GameDay host Rece Davis, who was in Columbia on Tuesday.
“I have never been to the Big House,” Spurrier said of the Michigan stadium. “It’s an adventure. I look forward to seeing that stadium.”
The GameDay show will air from 9 a.m. until noon before the Michigan-Michigan State game.
Asked if he would like to be on the show full-time, Spurrier said: “I’m not sure, I’ve got to do something. I’m not going to just sit around. My better golfing days are behind me.”
Spurrier also said he and wife Jerri plan to split time living in Columbia and Crescent Beach, Fla.
