Connor Shaw endorses Kurt Roper for South Carolina staff
Reports have already pegged former Florida offensive coordinator Kurt Roper as set to take the same position with Will Muschamp’s South Carolina staff.
Now the coach has the backing of a Gamecock legend.
Former South Carolina quarterback and current Cleveland Brown Connor Shaw tweeted out support for Muschamp and complimented Roper, who spent the past year as an offensive assistant with Cleveland.
Excited for the future of Gamecock football. Welcome, @CoachWMuschamp & thrilled to have @CoachKurtRoper. One of the best I've been around!!

— Connor Shaw (@cmshaw9) December 7, 2015Roper built strong offenses at Ole Miss and Duke with David Cutcliffe. His single Gators offense played faster than previous attacks under Muschamp, but quarterback turmoil robbed the unit of any effectiveness.
Shaw went 27-5 as South Carolina’s starter, the most wins for any Gamecock passer, and led the team to three bowl wins.
