ESPN: Little pressure on Will Muschamp in 2016
South Carolina’s Will Muschamp and new Missouri coach Barry Odom are facing the least amount of pressure among SEC football coaches this season, according to ESPN’s Peter Burns, who also is an SEC Network anchor.
The Gamecocks are coming off a 3-9 season in which Steve Spurrier resigned in October. Muschamp was hired in December.
“With no Skai Moore, makes it even tougher,” Burns tweeted. “6 wins would be solid, but love the hire. Just needs a little time.”
South Carolina’s first-year head football coach has been optimistic during his spring speaking tour, saying he believes “we’ve got good enough players here to win the (SEC) East.”
Texas A&M’s Kevin Sumlin is under the most pressure, Burns tweeted, because of issues surrounding the Aggies’ quarterbacks. First-year Georgia coach Kirby Smart is under the most pressure among the SEC East new hires, according to Burns.
