Basketball recruiting notes: Tevin Mack, Conor Clifford, more
There’s more activity to report on Monday night regarding Tevin Mack of Dreher.
Mack (6-5) did not meet with Oklahoma State on Sunday as planned because the weather prevented the Cowboys’ coaches from traveling. Kansas head coach Bill Self is scheduled to meet with Mack on Tuesday in Columbia, according to Mack’s mother, Paula. He met with Texas assistant coach Mike Morrell on Friday.
Paula Mack said they saw USC coach Frank Martin on Sunday at a basketball banquet in Columbia but did not have a conversation with him. Paula Mack said she talked with USC assistant Lamont Evans on Thursday. Over the weekend she talked with coaches from Clemson and Georgia.
Ms. Mack said they have not yet scheduled any visits, which will have to be unofficial because all of the official visits have been used, and they are looking at USC, Georgia and Texas for possible visits at this point.
▪ Conor Clifford (7-0) of Saddleback College visited Utah over the weekend. He has not yet made a decision, according to his coach and they plan to meet Wednesday. Clifford also visited Washington State and USC. Hs coach said the Gamecocks remain very much in the thick of things.
▪ Malik Ellison (6-6) of Burlington, N.J., who made an official visit to USC over the weekend, talked with USC coaches over the phone on Monday. He will meet with coaches from St. Johns and Rutgers on Tuesday. He has taken official visits to USC and Minnesota and has not yet scheduled others.
▪ UNC Asheville transfer Andrew Rowsey (5-11 ) plans to visit Marquette, NC State and Virginia Tech, per ESPN. USC has also contacted him.
