Tiffany Mitchell solid in WNBA debut for Indiana Fever
Tiffany Mitchell started and scored 14 points in her WNBA debut Sunday for the Indiana Fever.
Mitchell was selected No. 9 by the Fever in last month’s WNBA Draft. She played 23 minutes Sunday in the Fever’s 108-90 win over the Dallas Wings. She was 6-of-13 shooting, including 2-of-4 from three-point range.
The Fever begin their regular season on May 14 at home against Dallas. Mitchell will be back close to home on May 29 when Indiana visits Atlanta.
The two-time SEC Player of the Year finished her college career with a school record for starts (139) and was part of a group of seniors who won a record 121 games in four years. Mitchell scored 1,885 points, fifth on the career chart, and was second in 3-point and free-throw percentage.
