Midlands High School Basketball Players of the Week
A look at some of the top performers in the Midlands over the past week:
GIRLS
Jhileya Dunlap (Dreher) – North Carolina signee scored 30 and 28 points in consecutive wins over Chapin and Sumter.
Armanii Grice (Ridge View) – Averaged 14 points, 4.3 steals, 3.7 assists in 3 wins last week.
Christian Hithe (Spring Valley) – Tied a career-high with 35 points in win over Lower Richland on Saturday.
Kaitlin Pickens (C.A. Johnson) – Scored 30 points, had nine rebounds, six assists and six steals in Friday’s win over Lewisville.
Ashley Toney (Gray Collegiate) – Eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for her career Saturday against Hammond.
BOYS
Jordan Davis (Dutch Fork) – Had his second 30-point game of the season Tuesday when he scored 31 points in the Silver Foxes’ win over Spring Valley. Junior’s averaging 22 points a game.
Trey Jackson (Blythewood) – Freshman poured in a career-high 27 points in Bengals’ 90-65 win over Lugoff-Elgin.
Christiaan Jones (Cardinal Newman) – Had his fourth straight 20-point game when he scored 25 in Tuesday’s win over Augusta Christian.
Tariq Simmons (Keenan) – Junior scored a career-high 37 points in the loss to Hammond on Monday. He leads the team with 18.6 points a game.
Seventh Woods (Hammond) – North Carolina signee scored 30 points and dished out seven assists in Monday’s win over Keenan. Senior also eclipsed the 2,000-point mark for his career earlier this month against Laurence Manning.
