Butcher paper dinners, an oyster roast and Christmas chocolate sale
Farm to Table Events Co. releases 2017 events schedule: There are some new and exciting offerings coming up next year. In addition to the monthly Harvest Dinners (usually held around the first of the month), check out this sampling of special events:
▪ Saturday, Jan. 28: Fourth annual Oyster and Pig Throw Down with LowCo Barbecue & Catering and Our Local Catch ($45)
▪ Saturday, Feb. 11: Smoke and Beer Festival kicks off Craft Beer Week with food from local restaurants and craft beer from the Carolinas & Georgia ($15 plus cash bar)
▪ Saturday, March 25: Cream of the Crop Beer Festival marks the finale to Soda City Suds Week ($45).
▪ Sunday, May 21: Drink Pink Rose Festival featuring close to 100 rose wines to sip and purchase ($45)
In addition to these events, Vanessa Driscoll Bialobreski has scheduled a James Beard Foundation Dinner & Auction at City Roots, a fundraiser for the James Beard House in New York. The Monday, April 3 multicourse dinner will feature chefs Mike Davis (Terra), Blake Fairies (Sea & Salt), Wes Fulmer (Motor Supply), Lou Hutto (LowCo Barbecue & Catering), Russell Jones (Tallulah), Travis Rayle (Spotted Salamander), Charley Scruggs (Tallulah), Sarah Simmons (Rise Bake Shop, Birds & Bubbles), Todd Woods (The Oak Table), Kristian Niemi (Bourbon) and Frank Bradley (Bourbon). Tickets are $150. Farm to Table also will head to New York City Tuesday, Nov. 7 with a contingent of South Carolina chefs to prepare a dinner at the James Beard House. The menu and details are yet to be determined.
There is also a new series called Butcher Paper Dinners that will be more casual and feature live music, cash bar and food that will vary between Lowcountry boils, ribs, crawfish, pork pulls and more. Dates for the Butcher Paper Dinner series include these Saturday events: April 29 (crawfish), June 3, July 8, Aug. 12 and Sept. 16.

River Rat Brewery’s Brewmasters Oyster Roast: A ticket will get you an oyster roast, pig picking and 2 beer tickets. Purchase in Tap Room from River Rat employees; only 150 tickets available.

Christmas in the Woods: Evening includes Southern buffet dinner and bar, with proceeds to benefit River’s Edge Retreat’s continuing efforts to provide for underserved children in the Midlands.
