Through March 28, more than 25 events are planned to focus on the art and appreciation of craft beer in the Midlands. Activities conclude with an all-day, all-Carolinas outdoor suds festival at City Roots. Here’s more:

Wednesday

Don’t Fear The Funk: An Intro to Sour Beers, 5-7 p.m., Sam’s Fine Wine and Spirits, 5050 Sunset Blvd., Lexington. An educational tasting event featuring four sour beers from Evil Twin and Jolly Pumpkin. Learn about how breweries produce these complex beers.

Which Cheeses Go Best With Your Beer?​ 5:30-7 p.m., Whole Foods Market, 702 Cross Hill Road. The beer expert will walk you through sampling of five beer styles matched with a variety of cheeses selected by the cheesemonger. Tickets: $10.

Bourbon and Beer Dinner, 6:30-9 p.m., Liberty Tap Room Vista, 828 Gervais St. Five-course dinner paired with selections from Conquest Brewery and Knob Creek. Reservations by calling (803) 461-4677. Tickets: $40 plus tax and tip.

Trinken Lokalen Pop-Up Beer Hall, 7 p.m.-midnight, Tapps Art Center, 1644 Main St. The Fountain Room is transformed into a beer hall. Enjoy local food and draft beer. Free.

Thomas Creek Brewery Night​, 5-9 p.m., Craft and Draft, 2706 Devine St. Tap takeover featuring beers from Thomas Creek Brewery of Greenville.

Rare Beer Tasting and Growler Fill​, 5-7 p.m., Green’s Beverage Warehouse, 4012 Fernandina Road. Try some rare beers.

Duck-Rabbit Tap Takeover, 5-10 p.m., Mellow Mushroom Columbia, 1009 Gervais St. Try some interesting Duck-Rabbit selections with your pizza.

Craft Beer & Food Pairing Class, 6:30-8 p.m., Charleston Cooks!, 702 Cross Hill Road. Discover the possibilities of food-friendly beers from Old Mill Brewpub. Class designed for beer lovers and food lovers alike. Five small courses paired with a selection of beers. Class is demonstration-style. Recipes will be shared. Paint Your Beer, 6:30-8:30 p.m., River Rat Brewery, 1231 Shop Road, Columbia. Join All About Beer magazine and staff from Studio Cellar for an artistic evening. Tickets: $45; price includes supplies and first beer. See sodacitysudsweek.com.

Chocolate Blood Orange Imperial Stout Release, 4-10 p.m., Conquest Brewing Co., 947 S. Stadium Road, and World of Beer, 902 Gervais St. Be among the first to taste a new, intriguing beer.

COAST Brewing Company Tap Takeover, 6-10 p.m., Keg Cowboy Bar & Restaurant, 108 E. Main St., Lexington. Try selections from this North Charleston brewery.

Foothills 10th Anniversary Party, 6-10 p.m., Flying Saucer, 931 Senate St., Columbia. A variety of Foothills brews will be on tap from Winston-Salem, N.C.

Dinner & Movies + Camp Out, 7 p.m. March 27-10 a.m. March 28, Krafty Draft, 269 Charter Oak Road, Lexington. Join us at dusk to enjoy movies under the stars, with dinner and sudsy refreshment for purchase. Rare beers will be available. Cream of the Crop Beer Festival, noon-5 p.m., City Roots Farm, 1005 Airport Blvd., Columbia. Try a variety of South Carolina and North Carolina craft beers, plus the best of local restaurants. Ticket includes a tasting glass, beer guide and all tastings. Buy a pint or fill a growler. Relax with live music. Tickets: $35 at sodacitysudsweek.com (designated driver ticket is $10).

Stout Tasting, 3-7 p.m., Morganelli’s Party Store, 3155 Forest Drive, Columbia. Blind, guided tasting that includes well-known and lesser-known options.
