What’s opening in theaters

Get Hard (R): This already-controversial comedy stars Will Ferrell as a corrupt financier who gets tips from his friend (Kevin Hart) on how to survive his upcoming prison stint.

Home (PG): Jim Parsons, Rihanna and Steve Martin provide the voices for this animated adventure about an alien on the run who lands on Earth.

Serena (R): In 1930s North Carolina, the owner of a timber empire (Bradley Cooper) runs into trouble when he falls for the wrong woman (Jennifer Lawrence). Based on the novel by Ron Rash.

It Follows (R): The buzz is strong on this horror movie about a young girl who starts getting stalked by a supernatural force after she contracts a sexually transmitted disease.
