Get ready for a little golf and beer in Five Points, all for a good cause.

The popular 9th Annual Long’s Bar Stool Classic, played throughout Five Points bars and restaurants, is set for Sept. 8. The 8-hole putt-putt bar crawl benefits the Babcock Center Foundation.

The Long’s Bar Stool Classic is a self-guided tour, and golfers are encouraged to take advantage of food and drinks specials while playing at each bar or restaurant. Golfers also may be eligible for the “Second Chance Hole” at Jake’s by dressing up in their best golfer’s attire. The winner receives a cash prize of $500, and other prizes will be awarded for second and third place, along with best dressed and hole-in-one golfers.

The official after-party will be at Jake’s (2112 Devine St.).

The stops for the tour, which starts at 5 p.m., are Bar None, The Bird Dog, CJ’s, Delaney’s, Jake’s, Speakeasy, Village Idiot Pizza and Yesterday’s.

Golfers may pre-register for $15 on the Five Points Association website until Sept. 4. Day of registration will be $20 and is not guaranteed, as the tour may sell out.
