Easter brunch guide

Brunch is a big thing in Columbia but most restaurants don’t take reservations. Look for the sweet spot of opening times and about an hour before closing for your chance at getting a table without too much of a wait.

Some of the more popular (but definitely not all) Sunday brunch spots are:

Hangover Hashbrowns are a favorite here.

The Eggs Benedict and homemade corned beef hash with eggs are quite tasty.

Famished? Try the Biscuit of Champions (Ms Blythe’s biscuit, housemade andouille sausage, crispy chicken thigh, bourbon smoked bacon and andouille sausage gravy).

Where to start? Lemon ricotta fritters? the addictive truffle frites? or confit lamb shoulder omelette?

The menu changes daily and is posted online 30 minutes before the restaurant opens.

Liberty on the Lake, 1601 Marina Road, Lexington, www.libertytaproom.com. 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

The menu features a Rise and Shine pizza with eggs, ham, applewood smoked bacon, peppers and mixed cheeses.

Celebrate Easter Italian style.

Notable in the chains: Longhorn Steakhouse will be featuring a special Chef’s Showcase menu for Easter that includes Grilled Lamb Chops marinated in a mint infused bordelaise and served atop horseradish whipped mashed potatoes and wilted spinach.
