Entrepreneurs make their pitch in daylong event

The Southeast is creating buzz for business.

And the ConvergeSE web design and marketing conference, taking place this week in Columbia, also is creating buzz with a daylong pitch contest Wednesday, April 15.

Here’s the pitch about the pitch contest: From 2-6:30 p.m. at Music Farm Columbia, entrepreneurs from regional startup businesses will make their case to Launch Tennessee, an organization participating in the 36/86 Southern Series conference in June in Nashville.

Four winners from each region will get a chance later to compete for funding up to $36,000.

The pitch sessions are open to the public.

Later, attend a networking session from 5-6:30 p.m., and a concert at 8 p.m. with headliners The Weeks.

At www.convergeSE.com, learn more about ConvergeSE’s fifth annual conference, which features speakers from Adobe, Paypal and RetailMeNot. Another featured speaker: Thunder Levin, a write for the TV cult film “Sharknado.”
