It’s official: Paul McCartney coming to Columbia

Paul McCartney will play June 25 at the Colonial Life Arena.

Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Monday, May 4 at LMCtix.com and the Lexington Medical Center Box office inside Colonial Life Arena or Play it Again Sports.

The former Beatle is adding three dates – including Columbia – to his “Out There!” tour. Concerts dates in Philadelphia and Charlottesville, Va., June 23 also were announced this morning.

At a news conference Tuesday on the floor of the arena attended by Gov. Nikki Haley, USC athletic director Ray Tanner and others, British flags and a bright red shiny Mini Cooper flanked officials.

McCartney last was in Columbia May 7, 1993, at Williams-Brice Stadium.
