This USC alum is bringing his band to Columbia for their second album release
Amigo
Amigo, an easy-going rock ’n’ roll band from Charlotte, North Carolina, returns to Columbia to release its latest album, “And Friends.”
Lead singer and songwriter Slade Baird – who also plays guitar and harmonica – is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. Rounding out Amigo are Adam Phillips on percussion and vocals and Thomas Alverson on bass guitar and vocals.
Producer Mitch Easter, who has also produced for R.E.M., calls Amigo’s work “joyous.”
“Amigo songs hit that perfect spot between familiarity and freshness, which in another time might mean that there would be a couple of radio hits off this record,” Easter said. “You can listen to them for fun, or you can listen to them for emotion and resonance. That isn't easy to achieve, and when a band does it you realize you are listening to something real and enduring.”
