Bottoms Up: Drinks with views
After a long day or week, it’s nice to kick back and relax with a cold drink with a great view. Here are some great spots around Columbia that give patrons a chance to enjoy the fine scenery.
Liberty Tap Room on Lake Murray
With a large selection of brews, Liberty on the Lake is famous for its location right on the waterfront of the Midland’s most popular lake. With fantastic drink and food specials every night of the week (including Thursday’s Pint Night) this is the perfect spot to go take in the beauty of the area. One of the perks of the restaurant and bar is the ability to take your drink out on the patio and watch boats coming in and out of the marina. The restaurant also faces the horizon offering customers an unobstructed view of the sunset.
Open 11 a.m.-until, daily, located at 1602 Marina Road, Suite D, Irmo.
Rooftop Lounge at Sheraton
Another bar with sunset views, the Rooftop Lounge at Sheraton’s Downtown Columbia hotel offers a unique look over the “Famously Hot City.” It’s a hotel bar, but the drinks are reasonably priced and the setting offers a literal breath of fresh air. It can get crowded after sunset, but for good reason.
Open 5 p.m.-until, Monday-Saturday and 4 p.m.-until on Sundays. Located at 1400 Main St.
Old Mill Brew Pub
Located just outside of Downtown Lexington, Old Mill is situated right on Lexington Mill Pond. Another restaurant with a variety of drink options and tons of taps, Old Mill offers diners a chance to mix the outdoors and good drinks. The pond is of decent size and often times there are chances to see some of the local wildlife hanging around there.
Open 11a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Friday-Saturday. Located at 711 E. Main St. Lexington
