Richland County Library cardholders will have special access to a movie premiere Friday.
And they won’t have to leave their homes.
“Welcome to Me,” a dark comedy starring Kristen Wiig, is debuting in 1,000 theaters Friday, May 8, but a simultaneous online premiere is available for Richland Library cardholders.
It’s a special presentation that’s being made available nationwide.
How do you get access?
The Richland Library home page has a “Download It” section that allow you to download movies, TV shows, music and audiobooks through the library system.
You can sign up for the service, called Hoopla, or go directly to www.hoopladigital.com to register (using your library card number).
You may also access the movie through a smartphone app.
Wiig stars as Alice Kling in “Welcome to Me,” a quirky story of a woman – a little off kilter since she hasn’t turned off her TV in 11 years – who gets the chance to create her own talk show. The film co-stars John Cusack, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Linda Cardellini.
