Double preliminary winner at Wednesday night preliminary for Miss South Carolina, Miss South Carolina Teen pageants
On Wednesday evening at the Township Auditorium another four preliminary winners were announced for the Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen pageants.
Miss Reidville Teen, Shaylynn Simmons, 17, from Reidville, won the evening gown/onstage question, making her a double preliminary winner. Simmons won talent Tuesday night for her tap dance to “Yankee Doodle Dandy.” Another standout teen contestant was Miss Anderson Teen, Berkley Bryant, 14, from Anderson, who won the talent preliminary with her tap dance to “Runaway Baby.”
In the race for Miss South Carolina, Miss Greenville County, Daja Dial, 22, from Spartanburg, won the talent preliminary singing “I Believe.” Miss Upstate, Lauren Cabaniss, 24, from Spartanburg, won the swimsuit preliminary.
The Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen pageants will continue this week with just one more night of preliminary competition tonight, June 25, at 7 p.m. at the Township Auditorium.
The final competition for the teens is at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 26, when the new Miss South Carolina Teen will be crowned. The final competition for the Miss contestants starts with a pre-show at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, when the new Miss South Carolina will be crowned live on WACH FOX TV. Miss South Carolina 2015 will compete for the title of Miss America in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in September 2015. Miss South Carolina Teen 2015 will compete for the title of Miss America’s Outstanding Teen in Orlando in August 2015.
