Miss Greenville County claims title

Miss Greenville County, Daja Dial was crowned the 79th Miss South Carolina at the Township Auditorium on Saturday, June 27.

“I want people to know that if you believe in yourself, believe in your rights and believe in your future, no matter what adversity or loss you face ... you will learn a lesson and you will be greater because of it,” said Dial on her Facebook page.

Dial beat out her 55 competitors and will compete for the title of Miss America in Atlantic City, NJ, in September 2015.

Runners-up for the title of Miss South Carolina are:

First runner up: Miss Greater Greer, Anna Brown

Second runner up: Miss Hilton Head Island, Kate McKinney

Third runner up: Miss Inman, Lustra Miller

Fourth runner up: Miss Greenville Scottish Games - also won Miss Congenitally - Anna Mills Polatty

Rounding out the Top 16 are:

Miss Fountain Inn, Leah Lawson

Miss Hartsville, Suzi Roberts

Miss Lexington, Kelly Ragan
