Columbia outdoors calendar, July 12 and beyond

Heathwood Hall Episcopal School offers camps each week of the summer break. They can range from Lego City and Whitewater Kayak Adventure to Algebra and Geometry review. CAROLINA RIVER CONNECTION: Basic canoe, sea/rec and whitewater kayak instruction and rentals. Five guided trips for all levels of paddlers, including half-day, full-day and overnight trips. SESQUICENTENNIAL STATE PARK: Children’s nature programs, 10 a.m. Wednesday at 9564 Two Notch Road. Programs will focus on the plants and animals found at the park, children ages 6-10 will explore a different topic each week. Meet at the park office and dress appropriately for being outdoors. $5 per participant (children must be accompanied by an adult); registration deadline is three days prior to each program.
