American Authors and Andy Grammer

You’ve heard the band’s upbeat smash hit, “Best Day of My Life,” either on radio repeat or on commercials for Lowe’s and Hyundai. Now hear it performed live when the Brooklyn alt-rock outfit comes to Columbia. Singer Zac Barnett, guitarist James Adam Shelley, bassist Dave Rublin, and drummer Matt Sanchez play mostly cheerful songs about striving to make your dreams come true, which the band has done after years of struggling as musicians. Now American Authors are touring extensively around the country reveling in their success.

Singer-songwriter Andy Grammer rounds out this big double-bill. The 31-year-old started as a street performer and became an overnight sensation when his love song, “Honey, I’m Good.” went viral.

Catch ‘em both at the Music Farm at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Who knows? It may just be the best concert of your li-i-i-i-ife.

Skymonk, Barnwell, and Casio Mio

Don’t miss this superb gathering of Columbia musicians at New Brookland Tavern.

Skymonk, an alternative blues rock band made up of Kelly Nash, Scott Roberts and Ben Evans, will reveal its latest single "To have and to hold" in preparation for the group’s new album coming out Sep. 1. The group describes its slick grooves as a mash of MuteMath meets John Butler Trio. Next up is Barnwell, a dreamy, jangly sound machine led by Tyler Gordon with Nick Fogle, Ross Swinson, Andrew Gordon and Seth Ely. And don’t forget Casio Mio, a Calypso-inspired rock band whose music is fun, energetic and on point.
