UU Coffeehouse Series: John Emil

Singer-songwriter John Emil will be the latest to play in the UU Coffeehouse Series, now in its 22nd season.

The Coffeehouse is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia. The church brings in nationally and internationally touring musicians that range from acoustic to folk to bluegrass.

Emil is an accomplished slide guitar player who integrates country blues, folk and bluegrass sounds into his performances.

8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 in the social hall of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Columbia, 2701 Heyward St. Tickets are $15 in advance, $17 at the door (with reservations) and $3 for students. To purchase tickets or make a reservation, visit www.uucoffeehouse.org or call (803) 200-2824.

No and Raingod are local punk/metallic hardcore outfits.
