Songversations with THE Dubber set for Tuesday
The Songversations series at the Tapp’s Art Center includes a live performance and insight into the artist’s songwriting process.
Tuesday’s featured artist is THE Dubber, a.k.a. Wendell Culbreath, a self-taught singer-songwriter from Edgefield who plays reggae-infused jazz and blues.
His quiet, speak-sung vocal style and mellow acoustic guitar playing make for an intimate stage show.
Several of his songs, like “South Cackalacki,” have plenty of South Carolina references that listeners can connect to.
7 p.m. Tuesday at Tapp’s Art Center, 1644 Main St. $5 general admission; $20 for a table and a bottle of wine. www.tappsartscenter.com.
