Get in a fall mood by making a scarecrow for Historic Columbia exhibit
The weather has us thinking about fall this week.
And, a great way to celebrate the season is by making a scarecrow.
Historic Columbia is taking entries now for its annual scarecrow display at the Robert Mills House & Garden in downtown Columbia.
The good news is, if you start your scarecrow today, you will have just under two weeks to finish it – the entry deadline is Sept. 29. Building a scarecrow is a great activity to undertake with family, friends, schools, co-workers or other organizations – or, you can do it on your own.
Then, be sure to pay a visit to the free Scarecrows in the Garden exhibit, which will be on display on the grounds of the Robert Mills House throughout October. It is open to the public during normal business hours Tuesdays through Sundays.
Prizes will be awarded for the best entries.
For contest entry fees and other contest details, see the Historic Columbia web site at http://www.historiccolumbia.org/scarecrows-contest.
