SC State Fair shortens hours to alleviate game day traffic
SC State Fair will shorten admission hours on Saturday, Oct. 17 to 7 p.m. in hopes of easing USC post-game football traffic around Williams Brice Stadium.
USC will kick off against Vanderbilt at 4 p.m. and the game is expected to end around 7 p.m.
“We don’t want to add to the traffic congestion by having people trying to get down to the fair when people are trying to leave the football game,” said State Fair Manager Gary Goodman.
The fair will remain open until 10 p.m. Gates will open at 10 a.m. and the fairgrounds parking lot will open at 9:30 a.m.
There is a $5 fee for parking and no tables and tents will be allowed in the parking lot. Net parking proceeds are donated to flood relief efforts.
The fair will offer free admission for USC football game ticket holders 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday.
