Fair shows support for flood recovery Thursday with $1 admission

The S.C. State Fair is honoring the efforts of those helping the state recover from devastating floods with $1 gate admission for everyone Thursday.

The fair has designated Thursday as #SCStrong Day, to acknowledge the many acts of service by first responders, community organizations and various volunteers.

“Out of this tragic situation ordinary people have stepped up to do extraordinary things,” said State Fair manager Gary Goodman. “We hope to honor those individuals with a day of optimism and fun as we continue to rebuild and recover.”

The fair runs through Sunday.
