National Festival of Praise Tour comes to The Township
The Festival of Praise Tour is making a stop at The Township Auditorium Thursday.
The national tour, which includes more than 50 cities, features award-winning artists Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin, Kim Burrell plus Hezekiah Walker and Israel Houghton.
A supporting vocal chorus includes Isaac Carree, Jessica Reedy and Zacardi Cortez, along with a Chicago-based band, according to the tour web site.
The Festival of Praise web site also notes:
▪ Hammond, one of the architects of the “Urban Praise & Worship” phenomenon in Gospel music, has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide and has won Grammy, Stellar, Dove and BET awards.
▪ Three-time Grammy winner McClurkin is host of nationally syndicated radio’s “The Donnie McClurkin Show.” He also has written songs, among them “Stand” and “We Fall Down.” He also is a judge on BET’s TV show, “Sunday Best.”
▪ Pastor Burrell, a Grammy nominee and Stellar Award winner, has been featured on BET’s “Celebration of Gospel, Lift Every Voice,” as well as the “Bobby Jones Gospel Show.” She has appeared at Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall, Rock & Roll Music Hall of Fame and other venues worldwide.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at The Township, 1702 Taylor St. The show starts at 7:30.
Tickets range from $35 to $55. Groups of 20 or more save $3 off each ticket, though tickets only are available at the box office.
