Choreographer hosting workshop at Harbison Theatre

Harbison Theatre is allowing people a chance to look behind the scenes of stage performance by teaching some basics of dance with one of the Columbia’s premier choreographers for HT Behind the Scenes – Dance.

Choreographer and performer Terrance Henderson will lead the workshop, walking participants through the basics of dance and choreography. Henderson is also this year’s featured artist in the HT@MTC’s Performance Incubator.

The workshop, which is appropriate for all levels of experience and ability, costs $29 per person.

It will be 1-3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Harbison Theatre, 7300 College St., Irmo.

Henderson serves as the artistic director and principal choreographer at Columbia’s Vibrations Dance Company and is a company member at Trustus Theatre.

He also was the state’s 2009 Dance Performance Artist Fellow, the same year he won the Bronze Leo Award for Outstanding Jazz Choreography at the Jazz Dance World Congress in Chicago.
