On the ocean floor with explorer Fabien Cousteau
Oceanographer Fabien Cousteau, grandson of the legendary explorer Jacques Cousteau, will bring his past adventures to life during a talk Tuesday at Harbison Theatre titled “One Ocean, One People.”
From scuba diving with sharks to advocating for endangered marine life, Cousteau’s expeditions have crisscrossed the globe and inspired others to take up adventures of their own.
Last year, Cousteau spent 31 days living in an underwater laboratory off the coast of Florida, breaking his grandfather’s world record by one day.
As a self-described “aquanaut,” Cousteau views oceans as the planet’s final frontier, a vast expanse of life and mystery that still needs exploring.
Dive under the sea with him Tuesday at Harbison as he delves into the exciting and ominous revelations he and his team of scientists had while living underwater.
7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Harbison Theatre, 7300 College St., Irmo, $18, www.harbisontheatre.org/
