Talk and tour: ‘Behind the Canvas’
Ever wonder what kind of art people put on their own walls at home? Find out at the “Behind the Canvas” tour Tuesday, which is a spinoff of the Columbia Museum of Art’s 101 series.
Participate in a private tour of a museum member’s personal art collection. About 30 original pieces will be on display from primarily local artists and South Carolina craftsmen.
Three artists who have pieces in the collection – Bonnie Goldberg, Laurie McIntosh and Rebecca Hinson – will be on hand to talk about art in the Midlands and their work as artists. There also will be three face jugs from fifth-generation potter Jason Luck.
Beer, wine and light hors d’oeuvres will be served during the tour.
Advance registration is required, as space is limited. The event address will be provided upon completed registration.
6-8 p.m. $10. Register at (803) 799-2810, columbiamuseum.org.
