More New Year’s Eve concerts around Columbia
Famously Hot New Year isn’t the only party in town. Here’s a list of the other New Year’s Eve events going on in the Midlands.
All events are for Thursday, Dec. 31.
THE VISTA
Flying Saucer will host a bash featuring live music from rock cover band The China Bulls. Enjoy a champagne toast at midnight with provided masks and party favors.

Jillians will have live music with Newberry rock/blues band Kelly Cheats and Columbia experimental jazz/rock group Modern Disruption. The two bands will combine for a first-time supergig. Kelly Cheats also will release a new single called “Soul Revival” that the band has been developing at Plaugh’s House recording studio in Columbia.

Tin Roof’s NYE party suggests reservations. For $100, you can get a table for four people that includes two bottles of champagne, party favors and a dedicated server. Pop rock band Seventy Six and Sunny will be cranking out the tunes until a balloon drop at midnight.

Music Farm is having a NYE throwdown of its own with DJ Payne and DJ Atuck.

WEST COLUMBIA
New Brookland Tavern’s New Year’s Cover Show offers entertainment with a twist. Five local bands will be channeling their favorite music superstars and covering their songs. Versus the Robot and Dan’s Tramp Stamp will appear as The Strokes, The Fire Tonight will play Ben Folds Five, Ron Gandy takes on Notorious B.I.G and Maynard Kelly & The Stampede will perform songs by Creed.

Bill’s Music Shop and Pickin’ Parlor is having a NYE party with Bob Strickland & Freestyle. Includes a catered buffet dinner and nonalcoholic bubbly at midnight. Come in your finest Western outfit.

NEWBERRY
The Newberry Opera House’s masquerade is a New Year’s Eve tradition. Join the Dick Goodwin Band and a bevy of guest performers to welcome 2016 with music, wine and champagne. Bring your mask and dress to impress. Fireworks at midnight.
